Custom Versioning in BOM Insight allows you as an admin to determine custom version numbers when your team is creating a new version of a BOM file. Creating versions of a list is helpful when comparing different scenarios for an uploaded BOM. Versions can then be used with the "BOM Comparison" feature. Please see the Comparing BOMs article for information on using this feature.
You can navigate to your Custom Versioning settings by hovering over your profile icon and clicking on System Settings. Then click on the section Versioning on the left side.
There are two options for Custom Versioning:
- Custom Version: this will allow you to create and customize a new version's name.
- Standard Version: this will allow you to add a prefix to all versions of an uploaded BOM.
