When needed, you can include multiple Item Part Numbers (IPNs) for the same part within a Demand and set the quantity to "0" for those IPNs not currently in use. This can help ensure that those IPNs are listed for analytical or preparatory purposes.
This provides flexibility so you can keep alternate IPNs listed, which is particularly useful in managing supply chain constraints such as part shortages. You can also maintain a comprehensive list of potential substitutes without affecting operational calculations. This capability allows for easy substitution of parts without needing to reconfigure or manually adjust the list each time an alternative is used.
When uploading your list, blank quantities will default the Qty to 1. It is only when the file explicitly has "0" in the Qty field that it will keep it as "0". This ensures that the system maintains consistency and accuracy in the Demand processes.
