Within BOM Insight, it’s easy to manage your parts in your BOM. You can quickly add or remove parts to your list as you’re working on it. There's functionality to move and copy parts to others lists as well.
Adding Parts
To add parts to a list that you're working on, above your line items click on +Add New Part. This will open up a side modal to add your new line item.
You will need to enter the Internal Part Number (IPN/CPN), the Part Number (MPN), Req. Manufacturer and Quantity for a line item. When no quantity is specified then it will count it as a “1”. Multipliers will be automatically applied as needed. If there are multiple quantity breaks in your BOM, then you can specify each one. When done, click on Save to add the new part to your list.
The IPN Auto Matching feature is compatible when adding single line items in a BOM. For more information, you can read this article.
Removing Parts
To remove a part from your list, check the box to the left of the part number in the IPN/CPN, and then click on the Remove button. For deleting multiple parts at once, you can check all of the boxes for the line items that you wish to delete.
This will open up a window asking you to confirm Are you sure you want to remove? To verify and complete click Yes, I'm sure.
Move or Copy Parts
Moving a part will remove the part from your existing list. Copying a part will keep that part on your existing list, as well as adding a copy of it to another list.
To move a part to a different list, check the box next to the IPN and click on Move. Then you will select the list that you wish to add the part to by moving it.
When clicking on Copy, you can duplicate the part to another list or choose to Add to Part Master if that IPN doesn’t currently exist within the part repository.
