Smart filters in BOM Insight allow you to sort, navigate, and organize your list. This helps you focus on the parts that matter to you, whether a lack of inventory, reviewing bad parts, or real-time data insights.
The Filters view consists of seven sections that allow you to filter and view your list based on the its defining criteria. These filtering options include by:
- Status
- Manufacturers
- Suppliers
- Category
- Life Cycle
- Suppliers Coverage
- Alternates Coverage
- Alerts
- CO2 Coverage
Click on a option within any of the sections in order to view your parts matching that specific filtering criteria. You can apply more than one filter when available. When needing to remove an applied filter, click on the X next to the filter's name. When needing to remove more than one, you can click on Clear All to remove all filters at once.
When a filter is applied, you'll see the total count of line items adjusted to the number of line items meeting that filter requirement. For example, when your BOM contains 21 line items and you apply a Life Cycle filter of "Active" and a Category filter to show its 5 "Transistors" parts, then it adjusts the count of line items displayed.
By clicking on the Status filter of Parts need attention, you can filter your list for any bad parts, which include those: With no exact match, No Req. Manufacturer match, Not matching stock, or Without price info.
For parts "With no exact match”, you can accept suggested part corrections either line by line, by utilizing the "Last Pick" or other suggested options.
You can also select multiple parts to correct in bulk by clicking Accept Suggestions.
If you "fix" (correct) or change a part to a suggested part number / alternate, you can easily view the original part number by looking in the MPN column. The MPN cell will have an exclamation mark next to "OPN" with the original part number listed to the right of it.
Hide or Show Filters
You can hide the toolbar completely by clicking on Hide Filters.
The Filter Toolbar will remain hidden on this list and for all of your BOMs until you reenable the filtering view in a list. Click on Show Filters to view the toolbar again.
Risk Filters
On the far right of your BOM, you can use the BOM Risk Filters to display parts filtered by different types of risk. In the upper right above your line items, click on the BOM Risk to open the modal.
This allows you to filter your list based on any of the following available risk criteria:
- Lifecycle Status
- Risk Index
- Suppliers Coverage
- Alternatives Coverage
Click on Close when finished using the risk filters. More information about your list's entire risk is available in the BOM Intelligence. Please refer to the BOM Intelligence article for more information.
