There are different pricing and part logics that can be utilized when uploading your BOM; making changes to your price source preferences; or searching for parts.

Logic for Specific Price and Web Price
On the Cost Prioritization tab in the BOM Upload, for the price sources of Specific Price (API/Customer) and Web Price, you have the options for results to be "Based on": Best price and stock, Best price at quantity, Best price available, or Match stock.
Best Price & Stock Logic
The logic of Best price and stock determines the source's selection by taking into account a result's pricing, its MOQ and stock availability.
- When stock is met, it will select the lowest price where the Quantity is greater than or equal to its MOQ.
- When no MOQ is greater than the Quantity, then it will select the lowest MOQ.
(The "Min" Quantity not being met will be identified in your BOM by using red font.) - If there are two identical lowest MOQ options, then it will differentiate by using the lowest price option.
- When no MOQ is greater than the Quantity, then it will select the lowest MOQ.
- When stock is met, but the MOQ is not met, it will select the closest result where the MOQ is greater than the Quantity.
- If there are multiple options, then it will differentiate by the lowest price.
- When no MOQ is greater than the Quantity, then it will select the lowest MOQ.
- If there are two identical lowest MOQ options, then it will differentiate by the lowest price.
- When stock is not met, it will select the supplier with the largest stock and where Quantity is greater than or equal to the MOQ.
- If there are multiple identical options, then it will select the lowest price.
- When no MOQ is greater than the Quantity, then it will select the lowest MOQ.
- If there are two identical lowest MOQ options, then it will differentiate by the lowest price.
Best Price at Quantity
The logic for Best price at quantity allows users to price items based on the best available price but also takes into account the requested quantity falling within the distributor’s correct quantity break limit.
Best Price Available
The logic for Best Price Available will simply select the lowest price by looking across all quantity breaks of distributors available. It is not looking at your Requested Quantity or their stock availability.
Match Stock
The logic for Match Stock is similar to "Best Price & Stock". However, the main difference is that when stock is not met, then the item is left unselected (not priced by that source) and the system will move to the next price source option.
- When stock is met, it will select the lowest price where the Quantity is greater than or equal to the MOQ.
- When stock is met, but the MOQ is not met, then it will select the closest result where the MOQ is greater than the Quantity.
- If there are multiple options, then it will differentiate by the lowest price.
- When no MOQ is greater than the Quantity, then it will select the lowest MOQ.
- If there are two identical lowest MOQ options, then it will differentiate by the lowest price.
- When stock is not met, then it will leave the item unselected (not priced by that source) so that the next price source preference will be considered.
The option of "Match stock" is useful when utilized for the source of Specific Price, and then with Web Price set to "Best Price & Stock".
Logic for Source Options
When uploading a BOM, there are additional logic options around the manufacturer and pricing. On the Cost Prioritization tab you have the "Lowest Price Settings" and on the Settings tab is the "Manufacturer Settings".
Manufacturer Settings
When uploading your BOM, the Manufacturer Settings allows you to specify if you want Supplyframe to consider price results based on if the manufacturer matches your mapped Requested Manufacturer. The system leverages manufacturer aliases from system suppliers when compared to your mapped intended manufacturer.
There are three Manufacturer Settings options, which are:
- Prioritize Req. Manufacturer (default) - the system will first look across all active price sources to identify a Manufacturer matching the Requested Manufacturer. If no match is identified, then another Manufacturer will be selected.
- Requested Manufacturer Only (pre-existing functionality) - only parts where the Manufacturer matches the Requested Manufacturer will be priced. Otherwise, a Manufacturer will still be selected, but the line will be left unpriced. Even when checked, if pricing is by the IPN/CPN, then the Requested Manufacturer is ignored.
- Ignore Req. Manufacturer - the Requested Manufacturer is not considered for the purpose of pricing. When checked, if the Requested Manufacturer exists on a line, then it will be ignored for the purpose of selecting a supplier option.
If there are two MPNs with the same IPNs, then the Req. Manufacturers will not be utilized in the pricing selection. Regardless if the setting for "Lowest Price" (across all) is selected is checked for IPN/CPN, Supplyframe will ignore the Req. Manufacturer if it exists on the BOM line. This rule is only for IPN/CPN pricing when based on CP, PO, or QH. It does not affect WP and SP, since these price sources are based on MPN matching.
Note: MPNs added from the suggestions modal are subject to the price cost settings in order to determine the manufacturer.
Lowest Price Settings
Then when checking the box for Lowest Price Settings will automatically select the lowest pricing out of all of your active price sources. This will supersede any other settings to go with the lowest price regardless of other factors.
Personal Preferences
Within your personal profile Preferences, you can set your Preferred Suppliers and Search Filters. To view your settings, hover over your profile icon and click on Account and then on Preferences in the left navigation bar.
Within Preferences, your My Preferred Suppliers are only in regards to Web Price results and not other price sources. Clicking on the button Choose your Suppliers allows you to set the specific Authorized and Independent suppliers you only want to view pricing from for Web Price results. Web pricing results are dynamic based on your location and will reflect the appropriate vendors servicing the region. After you've made your selections click on Save in your My Preferred Suppliers modal.
You will need to then click on Save Preferences on your Preferences page to finish saving the changes.
Therefore, when there are Web Pricing results from suppliers not in your selected Preferences, those results will be ignored when pricing your BOM.
For more information about difference source options, please review this Price Sources article for additional details.
Search Filters
On your Preferences page, you can set your preferred Search Filters in regards to stock availability and partial or exact matches when searching.
When checking the Search Filters box for In Stock, then this will limit your search to only items that have a stock quantity of one or more. When parts do not have any stock availability, then those results will not be shown. Otherwise, when unchecked, all results regardless of having stock will be displayed.
By checking the box of Exact Matches, then this will limit your search to items that are an exact match of the part number you entered. It will not allow any variations in displayed results.
For example: if you are searching for part "BAV99" and "Exact Matches" is checked, then the specific part number result of "BAV99" will display in your search results, while the variation part number of "BAV99-TP" will not be shown.
