BOM Insight provides helpful information around a component's life cycle on the Part Intelligence page and when using the Custom Export. To access an MPN's detailed Part Intelligence, click on the box icon next to the MPN in the Manufacturer Part Number column. This opens the side panel for the Part intelligence for that specific part. Within the Part Details section, you will see as available its Part Life Cycle Code.
The following codes are provided as a Part Life Cycle status:
- Active: part is active and in production
- Allocation: short supply and/or long lead times - manufacturers cannot supply the demanded volumes for the foreseeable future
- Contact manufacturer: contact the manufacturer for the latest life cycle status
- Declining: manufacturing of the part is declining
- End of life: part is at the end of its life cycle and is about to become obsolete
- Growing: manufacturing of the part is increasing
- Lifetime buy: manufacturer is offering a chance at one last lifetime order
- Not recommended: part is not recommended for new designs
- Obsolete: part is obsolete
- Preview: part is new and manufacturer is offering a preview
- Sampling: part is new and manufacturer is accepting sample orders
- Transferred: part has been transferred or sold to another manufacturer
- Unknown: life cycle of part is unknown

Export
When downloading your BOM, you can include the life cycle codes for each component on your list as available. On the top left of your BOM in the Project dropdown click on Export.
When the Export Preferences modal, make sure that the column Part Life Cycle Code is checked in the Select columns for export section. Make any additional preferences settings for your download, and then click on Export to finish.
BOM Insight will then include the Part Life Cycle Code for each part on your list in the download file. For more information on downloading your list, please review this Custom Export article.
