BOM Insight allows for the use of multiple Quantity Breaks. This can be achieved by either importing your desired specific individual quantities, or by using the multipliers function to have BOM Insight calculate additional quantity values based on a set multiplication value against your original quantity. Multiple quantity breaks can then be carried over into the Quoting module for full use in your RFQ.
BOM Upload
The Mapping stage (tab/step 2) allows you to map one or more quantities. From the column dropdown you can map the appropriate quantity fields.
*Note: Multilevel BOMs can only have one quantity set, and must use multipliers to generate additional quantities if needed.
Multipliers can be found on the first tab Settings when uploading your BOM. This is where you will specify your different multipliers. You can enter up to 6 comma separated multipliers for your BOM depending on your admin determined quantity settings.
After mapping, the uploaded quantity breaks (or multipliers) will appear under the "Qty” column with each line showing multiple rows of the uploaded quantity breaks in BOM Insight. The number to the left is your original requested quantity and the number on the right will be the orderable quantity dependent on any Mins (MOQs) or Mults (Package Qtys).
The “Extended Price” and "Excess Cost" columns will calculate for each quantity break. "Extended Price" is based on the selected cost price times the quantity, and then "Excess Cost" is taking into account any Min or Mults.
You can manually add parts with the corresponding quantity breaks using the “+ Add New Part” button at the top of your list. You will be able to enter the corresponding quantity breaks when more than one was mapped in your BOM. If multipliers were used, then you will only be able to add one quantity for the new part.
Maximum Quantity
The maximum allowable quantity is 200 trillion or 200,000,000,000,000 (2e14) to provide flexibility in managing large-scale inventory data. If you enter higher values, then an error message will state the maximum quantity limit and guide you to input quantities less than 2e14.
