In BOM Insight, the IPN (Internal Part Number) / CPN (Customer Part Number) column displays which IPN/CPNs were loaded from your file. It indicates when parts currently exists in your Part Master with a folder icon to the right of it. When an IPN is missing, it will display if there are potential matches in your Part Master. Lastly, you can view its IPN Intelligence by clicking on the cube next to it.
Clicking on a specific IPN/CPN will filter your list for that part.
You can see the Part Master folder icon located to the right of your IPN/CPN if the IPN exists within your repository. You can read more information about your part repository in the Part Master article.
When an IPN is missing within your BOM, if there are matches through its mapped MPN to parts in your Part Master, then it will allow you to manually select the IPNs themselves. Click on the +Select IPN link in the IPN/CPN column of the BOM.
This will open the “Select IPN” right side panel with the selection of matched IPNs. Click on the radio button of the appropriate IPN that you want to map to this MPN from your Part Master. Then click on Save to finish.

The IPN Intelligence enhances your experience by providing quick access to Internal Part Number (IPN) information directly from the table view in a side panel. Clicking on the Intelligence Cube icon next to the IPN triggers the side panel to open.
There are four tab sections in the IPN side panel. Tabs without data are disabled. The following information can be displayed in the four tabs:
- Info: Displays category and summary data with links opening in a new tab.
- Details: Shows all fields and values from the IPN category template.
- Alternates: Lists all MPN alternates and details, with a checkmark icon indicating the preferred alternate.
- Documents: Lists all associated documents, which are downloadable by clicking on the document name.
