Within System Template Columns, you can use AMLs (Approved Manufacturer List) as a LookUp Table in order to validate data when creating a BOM (BOM Insight) or a Demand (Demand Management). Then this BOM or Demand can be used to create your RFQ with its AML validated data.
AMLs can also be set as the referred data source when populating data through its Demand Template. When you create a Demand Template, you can specify that certain columns be populated with data from your AMLs. The specifications, data sourcing, and column mapping are template-specific, and therefore will not be the defaults for all Demand Templates.
AML Management
As an admin, or with permissions set to view/edit, clicking on AMLs (Approved Manufacturers) from the Reference Tables dropdown in the top navigation bar will display all existing files in your account and allow you to upload a new one. On this page, you can edit an uploaded AML by clicking on its name in the AML list. Then click on cells within the table to edit.
Add New AML
To add a new Approved Manufacturers List (AML), click on Upload Document to import your file. Click on Browse to select your file. You will need to have a unique Name. The default is your upload file's name, and can be edited by typing in the Name field. When your file has multiple tabs, use the Select Sheet to choose the appropriate worksheet within your file from the dropdown.
Then, you need to verify that your columns have been correctly mapped as applicable. If your data has been incorrectly mapped, you can click on the dropdown icon next to the column header to change the column header mapping. Your file must contain the following columns: CPN, Manufacturer, and MPN. Description is optional. Then click on Upload.
AMLS in Quoting
Within Quoting, there is no specific action taken within the module to use Approved Manufacturer List files. However, it may have already been referenced to pull data from when creating a BOM or Demand.
