Supplyframe's NPI-DS 2.19 release introduces new features to BOM Insight, Quoting, and some general updates across the platform.

BOM Insight now supports a large list of Reference Standard, ECCN codes and HTS codes. Quoting has added additional filtering features for our recent Group Analysis View addition. We've also added some general quality of life improvements, including bulk uploading aliases for your Suppliers and Wildcard Matching for your MPNs.

BOM Insight

Risk Index Additional Parameters

What is it? - BOM Insights' Risk Index now supports parameters for Reference Standard, ECCN Code(Export Control Classification), and HTS(Harmonized Tariff Schedule) code. Please see the full list of acceptable codes here: Reference Standard, ECCN and HTS values

Why do I need this? - Reference Standard holds a comma-separated list of part qualifications (e.g., AEC [Automotive], Space, Rad Hard [Radiation Hardness]). This information is critical for customers in automotive, space, or defense industries to ensure compliance with regulatory and reliability requirements.

ECCN is a classification code used by governments to identify items subject to export controls. It helps determine whether a license is required for export. This field is important if you are in aerospace, defense, and high-tech sectors where export compliance is tightly regulated.

HTS Code is used to classify goods for import/export and determine applicable duties and tariffs. This data is essential if you are managing international sourcing and logistics, ensuring accurate customs documentation and cost calculations.

Where can I find it? - As an admin, to set these codes, you will need to add them as conditions when setting the Risk Index for your RFQs. To do this, navigate to System Settings (found by clicking your profile icon in the top-right) and then click 'Risk Index' on the far left of the page.

On the 'New Risk Index' page, enter in your new Risk Index Name and then click 'Create Risk Index'

To start setting up your code options, click 'Add New Parameter', which will open a side panel that will allow you to search or manually select your Parameter, including the new Reference Standard, ECCN Code, and HTS Code options:

From here, you can click 'Add Condition' and then enter in one of the acceptable code values in your 'Create Condition' line:

How does it work? - Once created via System Settings, you'll see your selections in relevant line items, within the Risk Index side panel after clicking into the Risk Index value within your line item in BOM Insight.

ECCN and HTS Codes have been added in the expanded line item view in BOM Insight when data is present. They will be available for export if the “Export All Expanded View Data” is checked.

Quoting

Group Analysis View Update for Filtered Responses

What is it? - Supplyframe's Quoting Group Analysis View now works with specific filters applied on your RFQ Responses, including Assignee Category, Supplier and Manufacturer.

Why do I need this? - This feature was needed to improve the efficiency and relevance of navigation during IPN Group Analysis in RFQ responses. Users often apply filters (e.g., by Assignee or Supplier) to focus on the items they are responsible for.

Where can I find it?  - You can find this feature when using the IPN Group Analysis view, found by clicking the graph icon in your IPNs:

How does it work? - With this update, Group Analysis View will now start analysis at the first IPN group where your filtered criteria is met. Group Analysis View will also skip over IPNs with no relevant matches, streamlining the review process.

General Updates & Improvements

Upload Supplier Aliases

What is it? - Users can now bulk upload supplier aliases via CSV, streamlining the process for teams managing large supplier datasets.

Why do I need this? - Previously, aliases could only be added manually, which may have been time-consuming especially when maintaining alias mappings externally.

Where can I find it? - As an admin, via the 'Suppliers' top module, a new 'Upload Aliases' button can be found on the Suppliers page:

How does it work? - Clicking this 'Upload Aliases' button will navigate you to an upload page where you may browse and import a CSV file containing Supplier ID (required), Alias (required), and State (optional).

When a new alias is created and State is not provided, it will be set to Enabled. When an alias is updated, and a State value is left blank, it will maintain current state.

You can also choose to overwrite existing aliases by selecting an update checkbox during upload:

Wildcard Matching for MPNs with “?” Characters

What is it? - We’ve implemented a new wildcard handling feature for MPNs containing a question mark (?)

Why do I need this? - This update improves suggestion accuracy and improves dealing with placeholder characters in MPNs, which can be common in many scenarios (e.g. placeholder for packaging).

Where can I find it? - Within BOM Insight, after uploading MPNs with '?' characters.

How does it work? - When a BOM includes an MPN with a ?, the system now interprets it as a single-character wildcard, returning suggestions that match the exact length and character pattern.

Example 1:

Entered MPN: MC0603B822K500??

BOM Insight Suggestion: MC0603B822K500CT

Example 2:

Entered MPN :MC????B822K500

BOM Insight Suggestions:

Example 3:
