Important Update: Changes to Line Item Tagging in Sourcing Projects (Release 2.28)

We're excited to announce an important enhancement to how line item tagging works within Sourcing projects, introduced with our 2.28 release! This update provides you with greater control and flexibility over your tagging processes.

What's Changing?

Previously, line item tagging in Sourcing projects was automated and hardcoded. With Release 2.28, this process is now Agent-driven.

Introducing the "Tagging Agent"

We've created a new, Supplyframe-defined agent called the "Tagging Agent." This agent will be automatically added to all customer tenants as part of this release. It's designed with rules that perfectly match the previous automated tagging logic, ensuring a smooth transition.

Key Benefits for You:

  • Full Control: You now have complete control over your tagging rules. You can adjust, repurpose, or even deactivate the Tagging Agent to suit your specific needs.
  • Enhanced Flexibility: Tailor your tagging to align precisely with your organization's workflows.

What You Need to Know:

  • For EXISTING Sourcing Projects: The new "Tagging Agent" has been automatically applied to all your existing Sourcing projects. You don't need to do anything!
  • For NEW Sourcing Projects: To ensure automated tagging occurs for new Sourcing projects simply  select and apply the "Tagging Agent" on the project details screen. This is a crucial step to maintain the automated tagging functionality you're used to.
    • Here's how:
  • Missed a Step? No Problem! If a new Sourcing project is created without the Tagging Agent, you can easily add it later under the "Agents" subheader menu. Once added, it will immediately apply its tagging logic, so your overview page will be up-to-date.

Our Recommendation:

We strongly recommend activating and utilizing the "Tagging Agent" in your Sourcing projects. This will not only maintain your current tagging functionality but also empower you to take ownership and customize your tagging rules as needed. Remember to apply the Tagging Agent to new Sourcing projects on the project details screen.
