The Versions functionality in BOM Insight allows you to create a new version of your BOM while retaining your current selections without needing to re-upload your BOM. This helps save you time when you want to modify and run different scenarios.
Add Version
To create a new version of your BOM, click on the Versions in the top toolbar and then on Add Version from the dropdown.
Enter an optional Version Description and then click on Add Version. The naming convention of your new version will depend on the Versioning Settings as determined by your admins.
You'll see in the BOM name area the version identifier as well as the optional Version Description if it was included.
Compare Versions
The Compare Versions functionality helps you to evaluate your BOM versions side by side in regards to their BOM Intelligence.
In the top action toolbar, click on Versions and then Compare Versions, which will open the Compare Versions modal. Check the boxes next to the name of each version that you want to see and then click on Compare.
This will open up the BOM Comparison Report window with the data from your selected versions. You will be able to view the comparison of your BOM versions side by side. You can choose to view the differences either by a Line Level Comparison or by a BOM Intelligence Comparison.
When clicking on BOM Intelligence Comparison the analysis will be displayed by utilizing their BOM Intelligence, which is based upon different risk factors and their cost breakdowns.
