Formulas in an RFQ are calculated fields based on other fields within the RFQ. They are usually fields that are filled in by the supplier. These allow you to perform calculations on data that is populated at the RFQ stage.
To enter these fields into the RFQ, if you're an admin, you will need to define those fields through the Demand templates in Demand Management and the Part Categories templates in BOM Insight. More information is available in the help articles for admins regarding templates.
After a BOM or Demand list is added to an RFQ, once all the fields needed for the formula have data, then clicking on Calculate Formula will trigger the calculation in the RFQ. When one of the fields in the formula is blank, then the formula will not calculate.
Since non-electronic components can have additional costs, when collected from suppliers, these can be summed up in an RFQ formula so that data can be leveraged in scenario calculations.
