The Demand Spend Comparison report provides you the ability to compare two demand groups using contract pricing in terms of Spend, Quantity, and Line Items.

Use the Reports dropdown in the top navigation back to access the Demand Spend Comparison report. In the Create A Report left sidebar, you'll need to select the two demand groups that you want to compare. The filter field can help you narrow your selections.

You can select an individual demand and a single comparison demand, or you can select multiple demand lists for a group comparison. You will then need to select a contract price source file. After you've made your selections, then click on Show Report.

You can review the data using the different display view tabs of by Spend, Quantity and Line Items. The default display view will be by Spend.

Clicking on Show Details at the top will open to display which demands are currently being analyzed. Then click on Hide Details to minimize the informational section.

There are filters to help you view specific information, which include by Plant, Custom Region, Subcontractor, and Category. The same section also includes the demand's ratio on the far right.

You can also click on Export Report or Print Selection for the data as available.

Comparison Summary by Category and Plant

In the section below the filter summary, you can see charts based on the Category and Plant for each of the different views (By Spend, Quantity, and Line Items). This way you can view the comparison by Plant and Category for each of these statistics.

At the bottom of the report you can view all of the individual line items that are being used to generate the chart and summary information.

Analyzing the Demand Comparison By Spend

When in the By Spend view, the merged demand from the initial selection will be compared to the demands selected in the compare section. To calculate Spend, the contract prices used will be based on the contract price file chosen and by calculating an average unit cost for an IPN, Plant and Subcontractor group.

The By Quantity view analyzes the differences in individual quantities for parts.

The last display view of By Line Items shows a summary comparison of the individual lines in each demand group.

Report Parameters

  • In order to create a Demand Spend Comparison report, then the selected contract price source file must have data for: IPN, Plant, Subcontractor, Price, Markup and Quota.
  • To see the data in your report displayed by Categories, then the IPNs have to exist in the Part Master and be attached to a category.
  • The fields of IPN, Plant and Subcontractor must be in your selected demands, otherwise lines will not be considered an exact match with the pricing from contract pricing.
  • Spend = (Price 1 * Markup * Quota 1/100 * Qty) + (Price 2 * Markup * Quota2/100 * Qty) +(Price n * Markup * Quota n/100 * Qty) for an IPN, Plant and Subcontractor group.
    • Within a demand, the first Qty for an IPN, Plant and Subcontractor is based on Parent IPN.
    • Across demand lists, quantities are aggregated for an IPN, Plant and Subcontractor.
