On the Comments page of an RFQ in Quoting, you can manage the Team Comments and Supplier Messaging. The Comments page of an RFQ brings all comments together in one place, so they can be easily managed.

You can access the page by clicking on Comments at the top of your RFQ to the right of the Project dropdown. The Team Comments are those shared internally with your team only and Supplier Messaging is displayed to/from your suppliers that were assigned to this RFQ.

To help differentiate if you've clicked on the intended team or supplier comment sections, different colors are used for the comments modal. A white window is for the team comments and then a light blue window for the supplier messaging. The most recents comments and replies will be displayed at the top. Only comments made at the line level are visible here in the RFQ.

To the far right of a specific comment for a part, you have the action links to View in Assignments and View in Responses. Both links quickly take you to the specific line item where the comment was left by applying a filter to its respective page.

After you are taken to Assignments or Responses page, you can remove a “Comments” filter as needed by clicking on the X next to the filter name.

You can leave Team Comments by clicking on the left comment icon shown for each line in the RFQ to the far right of the line item.

Comments: Notifications

Your Team Comments and Supplier Messaging comments will be displayed under the Notifications bell icon. The notification includes a link that will go to the specific part where the comment was left in an RFQ, by applying a search for the part.

Suppliers have the comment notifications alert as well, and will be notified via email too. Only the comments left by you will notify the supplier in their notifications menu. When a supplier leaves comments on a part, these will not show for themselves under their notifications.

When suppliers leave comments on a part, then an email notification will be sent to your account. Your suppliers have the option to tag a specific member from the customer side (your account) when they leave their comment. If they tag someone who is also your "Assignee" on that line item, then this tagged member will receive the email notification twice.

When no one has been tagged in a comment, then the "Assignee" member of a line will receive this email notification as they're considered the “owner” of a line in the RFQ. Therefore, the comment is most likely intended for their attention.
