DSI Release 2.6.0 - July 8, 2024
BOM Insight
MPN to IPN Mapping
The new MPN to IPN Mapping feature in BOM Insight allows the system to match MPNs (Manufacturer Part Number) in a BOM to your associated IPNs (Internal Part Number) in the Part Master. When you add an MPN to a BOM, the system displays the corresponding IPN(s) for automatic matching or manual selection. This enhancement aims to improve data visibility and integrity, reduce manual lookup time, and enhance the overall experience.
BOM Upload - IPN Auto Matching Option
You can enable IPN Auto Matching during BOM uploads. The default setting for IPN Auto Matching is be “unchecked”, which means it is disabled when not selected.
When disabled, the system will still map the MPNs to the IPNs in the BOM, but it will allow you to manually select the IPNs themselves by clicking on the +Select IPN link in the IPN/CPN column of the BOM.
This will open the “Select IPN” right side panel with the selection of matched IPNs.
With the setting disabled, you can also remove the mapping by editing the IPN line item and clicking on the Remove IPN from the line item link. This allows you to select a different IPN to map or to keep the IPN blank. As a note, this option is not available when the setting is enabled
When enabled, the system will map the MPNs to the IPNs in the BOM and will automatically select the most relevant IPN based on Preferred, Sourcing, Lifecycle Status, and Date Added (latest date) for multiple matches.
Select IPN Panel
Each IPN in the Select IPN panel has 2 sections:
- IPN Part Master Details
- MPN Part Master Info
This information is sourced directly from the IPN’s Part Master library and assists you in
deciding which IPN to select, especially when there are multiple IPN matches for an MPN.
BOM Settings - IPN Auto Matching Option
You can turn on or off the IPN Auto Matching for specific BOMs in the BOM Settings page. As a note, any BOM line items that have already been mapped will not be updated by the auto match. The BOM line item has to be unmapped for auto matching to work.
Add New Part
The IPN Auto Matching feature is also compatible when adding single line items in a BOM using the +Add New Part button.
Group Edit - Auto Match Selected to IPN
This function allows you to select unmapped line items in a BOM and automatically match IPNs based on Preferred Status, Sourcing Status, Lifecycle Status, and Date Added (latest date) for multiple matches.
Export Functionality
The export functionality will remain unchanged. If an IPN is not selected or mapped in the IPN column, then the IPN field will be blank upon export.
Quoting
Adjusting UOM settings
Functionality has been added for adjusting the UOM settings. This is beneficial when you use an RFQ for logistical purposes, in which you don't use all of the data and don't want the visibility of certain data (like UOM) to your suppliers.
Other existing settings for the UOM column will remain as is. This added functionality will be enabling the settings for “Viewable by Supplier” under Supplier Rule in RFQ only section. You will then be able to adjust the visibility only for the UOM column in the supplier portal. This field will not be editable at the supplier portal.
Adding Supplier ID in RFQ
The Supplier ID has been added within RFQs on the buyer side, so that each supplier will be identified uniquely for you in the system. The Supplier ID will be displayed on the Assignments tab as soon as the supplier assignments are done. It will also be displayed on the Submit, Responses, and Review and Implement tabs. The Supplier ID will not be visible in the supplier portal.
System Enhancements
Add New Member
This improvement has streamlined the process of adding new members to your account. Now when a user doesn't exist in the system, it will allow you to proceed directly to inviting the new member. This update provides clarity and ensures a smoother experience by allowing immediate addition of new members without unnecessary steps.
