DSI Release 2.8.0 - September 3, 2024
BOM Insight
IPN Intelligence
The IPN Intelligence feature is designed to enhance your experience by providing quick access to Internal Part Number (IPN) information directly from the table view in BOM Insight via the Intelligence Cube icon. This feature allows you to view IPN details in a side panel without navigating away from the current page, thereby streamlining your workflow.
Clicking on the Intelligence Cube icon next to the IPN triggers the side panel to open. There are four tab sections in the IPN side panel. Tabs without data are disabled. The following information can be displayed in the four tabs:
- Info: Displays category and summary data with links opening in a new tab.
- Details: Shows all fields and values from the IPN category template.
- Alternates: Lists all MPN alternates and details, with a checkmark icon indicating the preferred alternate.
- Documents: Lists all associated documents, which are downloadable by clicking on the document name.
Permissions: The IPN Intelligence cube is not visible to users without permission to view data from the Part Master.
“In Part Master” for MPN & Manufacturer
When considering MPNs for various reasons, it can be useful to know if a certain MPN+Manufacturer combination is already In Part Master, whether you are looking in the BOM, through XRefs or in a parametric search.
Additional data from the Part Master can be helpful to decide if that part is one you want to work with for potentially replacing another part.
Aliases are being leveraged to identify the Manufacturer, as this feature is using the combination of MPN and Manufacturer together to match with the MPN and Manufacturer that exists in Part Master.
“In Part Master” is identified by its own icon, next to the Part Intelligence icon and the MPN. As this functionality is introducing the icon for “In Part Master” for the MPN, this icon will now also identify that the IPN is in Part Master. A filter for “MPNs not in Part Master” has been added to the BOM grid and in BOM Intelligence.
“In Part Master” for MPNs will be displayed in the various places where the MPNs are showing:
- Inside the BOM grid
- Inside the MPN modal
- Inside the side panel
- On Parametrics page
- In BOM Part Search Report
- In RFQ BOM Cost Review Report
- In Part Master

Use AI to filter BOMs
This enhances your experience by integrating a feature that allows you to filter and search BOM line items using natural language. This feature will leverage a Large Language Model (LLM) to understand and process human-like queries, providing accurate and relevant results based on user input. No new filters will be added; the AI will serve as a shortcut, providing a better experience for utilizing existing filtering capabilities.
Customers will be limited to 100 queries and will be provided with appropriate messaging upon reaching this limit. The queries in a BOM can be accessed by any team members within that BOM and cached responses will be available for future reference.
Queries are not case sensitive, though spacing or a dot in the sentence will count as separate queries. For example, the query of “Show me all xrefs” is different from “Show me all xrefs.” (note the period at the end of the request) and will be counted as a separate query.
PCN in Part Intelligence
Product Change Notifications (PCNs) are formal communications from manufacturers informing customers of changes to direct materials, such as: Component modifications, Material substitutions, Manufacturing process updates, Design changes, Obsolescence notifications. Information typically included are details about the change, reasons for it, impact analysis, and implementation timelines.
PCN data is now being displayed in its own section under Part Intelligence, as well as in a tab inside the side panel “PCN”.
Clicking on the document name will take you to an IHS/Accuris link of the document. Similar to the datasheets Supplyframe offers, these links will open only when accessed from within the application.
Compliance in Part Intelligence
Supplyframe is aware of the need for customers to manage and integrate compliance information into their sourcing and compliance processes. We have new fields for compliance that are available with this release. These are being grouped with some of the already existing compliance fields and will be displayed as a separate section under the Part Intelligence, as well as in the side panel.
These new fields have also been added to "Compliance" under Parametric Search:
- Qualifications (aerospace & military)
- Temperature Grade
- Candidate List Date for REACH
- EU RoHS Version
- EU RoHS Exemptions
- EFUP
- SVHC Over MCV
- CAS Accounted for Weight
- CA Prop 65 Presence
- CA Prop 65 CAS Numbers
- Conflict Mineral Status
- Conflict Mineral Status Source
New Commodity IQ Parameters Available for Risk Index
Four new parameters from Commodity IQ have been added to Risk Index:
- MoM Commodity Demand Index %
- MoM Commodity Lead Time Index %
- MoM Commodity Inventory Index %
- MoM Commodity Price Index %
Choosing these parameters will function in a similar manner to other parameters that you can set as part of your Risk Index. Incorporating these new parameters into the Risk Index will enhance its effectiveness in helping you be better prepared to respond to supply chain disruptions.
When the commodity is recognized in BOM Insight on a line item, then the system will evaluate how the MoM % change is compared to your criteria.
If there is no data for a commodity, it will show N/A and be scored based on your setting for "No Data".
Using these parameters in the Risk Index are available only to customers that have CIQ enabled for their account.

RFQ Exporting of Filtered Lines and Views
Exports for the RFQ are now taking into account if you have filters applied or if in a custom view. This allows you to achieve a more focused and efficient data extraction.
This update addresses the previous limitation of having to export all data. As you may have a need to work on only some columns or rows, you can now upload changes back for only a portion of the data.
With these improvements, you can quickly and easily export only the relevant data you need to work on. A message about the export behavior will be available to you.

Implementation Details
To integrate this feature, ensure that your API requests and responses are updated to accommodate the new risk index fields. The risk index data will be included in the JSON response format.
Update on "price_application" Field in RFQ Items API
This update addressed an issue in the GET RFQ Items API where the "price_application" field was consistently returning a null value. This update ensures that the field behaves as expected, providing accurate data or a default null value when applicable.
API Endpoint
- GET /api/rfq/{rfq_id}/items: This endpoint retrieves items associated with a specific RFQ.
Key Changes
- "price_application" Field: Previously, this field always returned null, regardless of the data available. The field will now correctly display applicable price application data. If no data is available, it will default to null, ensuring consistency and clarity in API responses.
Implementation Details
- Response Format: The API response format remains unchanged, except for the corrected behavior of the "price_application" field.
- Default Behavior: If there is no applicable price data, the field will continue to return null, as intended.
System Updates
Customer Logos Removed from the Organization Page
Logos for a customer's organization have been removed, which were previously displayed on the Permissions page only for the account.
In the future, Supplyframe is looking to give you the ability to upload your own logos and manage them via the customer admin configuration. The company logos could potentially then display in various places, including in exports.
Sorting for Quote History Report
The default sorted order has been adjusted from Ascending order (oldest to newest) to Descending by Response Date, as more likely to be interested to check out items quoted most recently.
Remove Ref. Quota Error on Review & Implement Tab
On Review & Implement, since Quoting only shows lines that were awarded, errors displayed were removed for Ref. Quota and will only display errors related to the Quota.
Removed Same Site Requirements for Links
To account for integration work with Teamcenter in order for users to move smoothly across Siemens products, adjustments were made so that you can transition easily from one application to the other, without having to go through the login page if already logged in.
